Babies First Pasta Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp italian herbs
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1 tin chopped tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 handful basil leaves chopped
Instructions
- Fry the onion and garlic for a few minutes on a medium heat.1 onion, 1 garlic clove
- Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for around ten minutes.1/2 tsp italian herbs, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1 tin chopped tomatoes, 1 tbsp tomato puree, 1 handful basil leaves
- When ready, add to freshly cooked pasta and top with cheese
Notes
Got leftover pasta sauce? Cool within 2 hours and store in the fridge for 2 days or transfer into a silicone food cube mould and freeze. Once frozen, transfer cubes of frozen sauce into a labelled freezer bag and use within 3 months.
Any frozen cubes of sauce can be reheated straight from frozen on a high heat in the microwave for 2-3 minutes (stirring every 30 seconds) or gently on the hob and then added to freshly cooked pasta.
Alternatively, if you have leftover pasta and sauce, you can freeze these leftovers in individual portions. When you’re in need of a quick meal, defrost & reheat in the microwave for several minutes (stirring regularly) until piping hot all the way through, served with a topping of freshly grated cheese!
